“Stories” (2012, Universal Music Poland)

“Stories” is an original album with compositions of Bulgarian pianist Konstantin Kostov, Agnieszka Hekiert, and Austrian guitarist Erich Sammer. A mix of Balkan tones, Slavic soul, delightful soundscapes, Serbian-Bulgarian odd rhythms, and soothing vocal parts by Agnieszka and Kuba Badach. The craftsmanship of musicians (great solo parts of pianist Konstantin Kostov and bassist Robert Kupiszyn) intertwine with Agnieszka’s deep voice, her incredible ease of moving up and down the vocal range, and many energetic improvisations.

“The whole repertoire was thoughtfully selected, so the artist can present the variety of her music interests and fullness of her vocal range. All in all, we have an album which is multi-layered, being a fusion of jazz, soul, pop music, sang poetry and bossa nova; all of that spiced up with a hint of ethno.”
